POSTED 19th/December/2011views:356
Patrick Kanyomozi at CPS

Kampala Metropolitan Commander Andrew Kaweesi has intervened in the Golola-Kanyomozi saga to establish why money collected on the day of the Golola-Nagy fight ended up at Jinja Road Police Station.

This was after Moses Golola took the matter to parliament asking MPs to help him get his money from Kanyomozi and the police but while there, he got Shs 1mn from Kampala Central MP Mohammed Nsereko.

The Kampala Metropolitan boss was forced to summon Golola's promoter Patrick Kanyomozi and the Jinja Road police officers to brief him on how they came to be in possession of Golola's money.

Golola's promoter explained that after collecting the money, he noticed that it was not safe for him to go with it to his hotel room and also not wise to drive with it to his home in Nagyeera.

This is when he decided to deposit the money with the police that night and collected it the following morning. Golola has been given six detectives to help him with opening up a case at Jinja Road police and also to understand the dealings between the two parties so as to enable him get his money.
